For years I have practiced traditional talk therapy and for years clients have told me that they had a greater understanding of their issues and some things had improved, but at a feeling level, some of the discomfort remained. When I discovered hypnotherapy, I saw amazing results, with feedback being consistently positive. There is something called "State Dependent Learning", which simply means that what we learn in an emotional state takes strong root in our mental, emotional and body memory. If I ask people what they were doing on September 5, 2001, very few can tell me, but if I say September 11, same year, most people recall what they were doing when the twin towers were hit. Why? Because it had a strong emotional impact. Since our feelings are located in our subconscious mind, what was learned early in an emotional state, tends to take a strong hold on us, and the best way to change what no longer serves us is to go back to that emotional state where the thought, feeling or behavior was born and change it from there, replacing it with something that is healthier. Hypnosis enables us to access this state, relearn what is necessary and be free to make positive changes.

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring altered state of consciousness, a state of inward attention and focused concentration. Because hypnosis and self-hypnosis allow people to use more of their potential, they gain more self control (it is a myth that people lose control during hypnosis). Everyone has experienced hypnosis or trance, although it may not be referred to by that name. If you've ever been absorbed in thought, while reading a book or watching TV, or even driving, and failed to hear someone talking to you, you were in a state of altered consciousness or hypnosis. When the mind is focused, people are better able to tab into and utilize their inner resources to make personal changes and learn how to better govern their own lives.
