If you haven't gone to a chiropractor before, here's what to expect in a typical initial visit:

Patient History
A clear understanding of the nature and extent of the problem or illness helps the doctor decide whether chiropractic health care is appropriate treatment for the condition, and if additional examination procedures are necessary.

Physical Examination
Orthopedic, neurological, spinal examination and postural analysis are performed to determine general health condition and specific problems.

X-rays/Lab tests
These may be utilized if necessary to further assess health condition.

Diagnosis
The diagnosis is based on history, examination, and x-ray/lab findings if applicable.

Treatment
Treatment methods, along with the adjustment, may include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, controlled exercise and nutritional counseling.
