There are many concerns centered around "what can I do to help my child attain health?" As parents we want our children to be free of discomfort and illness, and most understand that drugs are not always the only answer.

Childhood illnesses are often a concern with parents. Understanding the normal progression of an illness allows for the prudent use of alternative treatment. Any time we can avoid antibiotics and other medications with side effects, the better it will be for the long term health of our child.  As parents we can become more proactive in safeguarding the health of our children. We can make use of herbs, vitamins, diet and lifestyle changes that are less dangerous than drugs and very effective.  Biomechanical and structural support for the joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles are important at any age. But children are constantly falling and injuring themselves and so need closer attention to make sure that there are no subtle joint restrictions.

Loss of normal joint play (inherent motion found within the joint) eventually leads to connective tissue breakdown and joint deterioration. Unless the injury is severe, it may take 5 - 10 years of consistent stress on the joint and supporting structures before pain and symptoms become evident. Restoration of normal joint play will prevent this deterioration from occurring.

At the Center for Family Wellness, we work with your children as individuals to uncover the underlying cause of the problem. We help develop the necessary exercise programs. And we help to develop proper diet, nutritional, and lifestyle changes that will ensure long term health.
